FSX Performance hard to beat

Hey this is my first blog post on this blog ;) Chapeu!

I’m currently in the process of starting my FSX experience. FSX is the short form of Microsoft Flight Simulator X (Version 10). I’m a virtual pilot for quite some time now - hmm must be about 17 years or so ago when i did my first flights in one of the early versions wihout any 3D glamour. Nearly everything has changed sinced then. Already lot’s of things changes since the last version was released back in 2004 (FS9). But not only is FSX the newest version of Microsoft’s virtual flying software but it also is the one with the biggest performance impact on actual hardware. You can’t really buy a computer that has enough power to really handle quality addon scenery and complex aircraft with a framerate (fps) on a comfortable level (around 30).

While i’m still at the very beginning of my FSX experience i’ve got lot’s of performance tuning work left to apply to the config files and GPU settings to make it work a bit more fluent. At the moment i’m at around 10fps with standards ultralight plane on a default airport. Let’s see what we get outa this during the next days.

I’ll post some details about my Windows Vista based Flightsim-PC in one of my next posts. Until then - and always three greens, pilots ;)
